The Madison County Airport Board and Eastern Kentucky University, which serves as the fixed base operator (FBO) for the Madison Airport, will host an open house and community barbeque on Saturday, April 27, at the airport from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ms. Jessica D. Jenkins has been named the 2013 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology. She was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.
Based on a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Computer Assisted Testing Service (CATS) site review and subsequent approval, all aviation majors at Eastern Kentucky University can now take their FAA examinations on the Richmond campus.
According to EKU Director of Aviation Ralph Gibbs, “As EKU continues to improve and expand its aviation program, it is worth noting that the aviation industry is also preparing for a significant shortage of pilots and other aviation professionals.
Aviation Flight Deck students in Clay Hall's Aviation Living Learning Community (LLC) had the second highest Average Living Learning Community GPA for Spring 2012. At 3.06 (on a 4.0 scale), Aviation students rank second only to the Nationally ranked EKU Honors Program that posted a 3.59 GPA.
