Five Aviation Students Earn SEC-AAAE/SAMA Scholarships
Five students in the Aviation Program at Eastern Kentucky University were recently awarded scholarships from the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SEC-AAAE) and the Southeast Airport Manager’s Association (SAMA). Each scholarship, to be applied towards the cost of tuition, is valued at $2,000.
“This is a huge accomplishment,” said Kyle Knezevich, faculty member and advisor for the student chapter of AAAE at EKU. “We continue to be grateful to the SEC-AAAE for recognizing and rewarding our students each year. They are a major part of our success as our graduates pursue careers in the aviation industry.”
Since 2015, EKU students have received more than $25,000 in scholarships from SEC-AAAE, with some students receiving the award multiple times. Among the evaluation criteria for receiving the awards were students’ academic records, school and industry involvement, work experience, financial need, and a faculty recommendation/ Additionall,y at least one of the student's dergree concentrations must be in aerospace management.
