(AP) — Capital City Airport in Frankfort will have aircraft on display Saturday at Aviation Day activities.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Kentucky National Guard are hosting the event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Airport Assistant Director Scott Shannon says there will be displays of civilian, private and military aircraft.

Free airplane rides will be available for young people who are at least 8 years old, and adults will also be able to take a ride if they make a donation to the Kentucky Institute for Aerospace Education.

Representatives of the institute as well as the aviation program at Eastern Kentucky University will be on hand for people interested in learning about aviation.
