EKU Aviation Seneca III

Students in Eastern Kentucky University's aviation program only need 1,000 hours of flight time to qualify for a commercial pilot's license instead of the standard 1,500, one of only a few schools in the country to receive such a designation by the Federal Aviation Administration.

"The way that EKU has it set up here, it definitely saves you a lot of time and money in the long run," says student Gage Colson. The school is hoping to expand training at several regional airports.
