EKU Flight Deck Students Attend Thunder Over Louisville

EKU Aviation “Flight Deck” students traveled to Louisville April 21, 2012, for the Thunder Over Louisville airshow.

The students visited the Kentucky Air National Guard base where Thunder Over Louisville aircraft were on display. The Kentucky Air National Guard base is located at Louisville International airport (SDF).

Community Invited to Madison Airport Open House and Barbeque

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Madison County Airport Board and Eastern Kentucky University, which serves as the fixed base operator (FBO) for the Madison Airport, will host an open house and community barbeque on Saturday, April 21, at the airport from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Over 20 EKU Aviation students visited UPS in Louisville, Kentucky, to learn about their night operations.  They arrived at the facility around 9:00 p.m.  Over the night time hours, they experienced a three-part program:

Eastern Kentucky University assumed management of the Madison Airport on Monday.

Jason Bonham, a former instructor in EKU’s aviation program, was introduced as manager Tuesday to the airport board during its monthly meeting, said Dr. Wilma Walker, who chairs the board.
