EKU Aviation assistant professor Joe Marthaler and his student team are designing the aircraft for its August 27th launch at Red Bull Flugtag 2016. Team crew members are:
Dustin Wittman is an aerospace management major at Eastern Kentucky University. He realized aviation was his passion when he went to his first air show as a child with his family.
“It kind of became a tradition, in Cleveland and later in Albuquerque. I went to air shows every year. I can't think of one that I missed,” Dustin said.
Tori Williams is a first-generation pilot on her way to becoming a professional aviator. She earned her Private Pilot certificate a few weeks after her 18th birthday, and is currently working on her Instrument, Multi-Engine, CFI, and Commercial ratings at Eastern Kentucky University.

EKU Aviation students visited the world's largest package delivery company - Louisville hub - on Friday, April 22. Seventeen students toured the facility and received a briefing about the UPS Worldport operation before being separated into two groups.
The Henry Martin Scholarship, a $500 cash award, was presented to Mr. Tony L. Hoskins at the Eastern Kentucky University Scholars Day Assembly on Friday, April 15, 2016. Hoskins, a senior non-traditional student from Richmond, Ky., majoring in Aerospace Technology and Aviation Professional Flight, was also inducted into the Society at a formal ceremony later that afternoon.
The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots offers Scholarship Opportunities for aviation students. Scholarship applications for this year's program are now being accepted.
