Flight Deck Student Achievements
Aviation Flight Deck students in Clay Hall's Aviation Living Learning Community (LLC) had the second highest Average Living Learning Community GPA for Spring 2012. At 3.06 (on a 4.0 scale), Aviation students rank second only to the Nationally ranked EKU Honors Program that posted a 3.59 GPA.
These numbers are also supported by the freshman retention rate from Fall 2011 to Fall 2012. Flight Deck retained their freshmen at an 83.33 percent rate while other non-LLC students in Clay Hall returned at a 58.9 percent rate. The on-campus average retention rate is 66.06 percent. The only Living and Learning Community with a higher retention rate than Flight Deck was the Honors Program with a 94.83 percent retention rate.
According to Nickole Hale, Associate Director of Academic Initiatives in EKU Housing, "Personally I think these numbers go a long way to proving what we already know - the Flight Deck Living Learning Community is a success and is helping students!"
