EKU Aviation Student One of Four Selected to Receive National Scholarship
EKU Aviation students Matt Jones has been selected as a recipient of the 2015 Globalair.com Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship award. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to four full-time aviation program students from around the country.
Students must agree to create a blog for the entire school year and post on it once a week. The scholarship is designed to help the student develop writing skills and to develop a network of peers. Since most students do not have work history to use, the blog also creates a personal information platform that describes the student as a person so they may use it for potential employers to review.
Matt is a freshman from Louisville attending EKU in the professional pilot program with a multi-engine specialty. Already a private pilot, Matt plans to spend this year mastering instrument flight and gaining his commercial pilot certificate. Follow Matt's blog here: chasingfl180.wordpress.com/
