Aviation Students Visit UPS Night Ops
Over 20 EKU Aviation students visited UPS in Louisville, Kentucky, to learn about their night operations. They arrived at the facility around 9:00 p.m. Over the night time hours, they experienced a three-part program:
Overview and Orientation
Split into two groups to first visit flight line operations and the move on to simulators and the pilot training facilities.
Global Operations Center where all flights are tracked including global weather and the emergency response center with on-call planes and overnight delivery. The GOC 24/7 maintenance personnel handles any conceivable contingency to ensure on-time delivery. No wonder overnight delivery is so expensive!
