Air Force ROTC

Air Force ROTC is a college program designed to commission officers into the United States Air Force.

Detachment 290, located on the campus of the University of Kentucky, is one of the best Air Force ROTC detachments in the nation. Det 290 produces high caliber officers that historically place very well in career matching, including pilots and navigators.

EKU students may register for and enroll in AFROTC through the normal EKU registration process and participate in AFROTC at UK through cross-town agreements between the two universities.

For more information regarding joining AFROTC and Det 290, please visit http://afrotc.as.uky.edu/ or contact Lt. Jeremiah Sloan at 859-257-7115.

Air Force ROTC offers high school students competitive 4 year college scholarship opportunities that cover up to full tuition, books, and a monthly stipend. Additionally, high school scholarship winners can attend EKU or UK and receive free room and board. If you are a high school student interested in an Air Force ROTC scholarship, apply between 1 May and 1 December of your senior year via the Air Force ROTC website: http://www.afrotc.com/.

If you are already a college student, cadets at Det 290 may be nominated to compete for an in-college scholarship to provide tuition assistance, books, and monthly pay.
